Chicago Chapter Projects & Activities
Fundraising
We are looking for fundraising ideas for the chapter.
It has been suggested that we sell products on our site
like Chapter Logo Wear or create an auction on Ebay
similar to silent auctions at charity events.
Please email us if you
have other ideas or an item you are willing to donate
for the auction. All items should be related to
Egypt and or Archaeology.
I suggest gently used
books, travel memorabilia, jewelry, art etc. If
you know of a business that can donate goods or services
in the way of merchandise or coupons that would be great
too.
Chapter Newsletter
Many of the other chapters produce at least a quarterly
newsletter with articles, related news items,
announcements along with other items of interest to the
members. We are looking for content, ideas and
volunteers to collaborate on this project.
Please email the webmaster if
you are interested in contributing to the web or
newsletter.
Reading
Group
We
attempted to start a reading group with little success. If
you would like to keep this program alive please
indicate your interest
and or volunteer to work on organizing a reading group.
The idea is for
all interested members to decide on a book, then read the
book and meet to discuss. Place and time of the meeting will
be decided by program organizer. We do have recommendations
on how to run a reading group and the board will assist the
members in making the program a success if we can get a
volunteer to lead the book club.
Study Groups
Are you interested in connecting with other members who have
the same interests?
If
you email us your interests we will help you create a study
group with others in the chapter. Sign up for a study group
in the following subjects (or suggest your own topic!)
